Ran from Meacham to Pendleton through the Blue Mountains today. Old Hwy 30 (Oregon Trail) is a beautiful road to run and a very scenic drive too. The trees, history, and vistas are simply amazing.
About 10 minutes into my run a herd of about 30 elk crossed the road about 200 yards in front of me. What a cool way to start the day. I really enjoyed running through the Umatilla Reservation too.
The big highlight of the day was crossing the 150 mile mark, equating to 10% of the run complete. Still so much more to run but that felt like an accomplishment in the first week. It rained for a good part of the run, mostly sprinkles, it was cooler today and felt great. Most of my toes are wrapped due to blisters but other than that I’m feeling good.
Finally the descent into Pendleton and the views are just spectacular, I especially enjoyed running downhill for several miles after all the climbing this week.
