Super hot 95 degree day today so I’m glad I got an early start. I ran into Roseburg, and about a mile into town was the headquarters for The Ford Family Foundation. They are one of the sponsors of the run and I was able to meet Sarah (pictured with her daughter) and Mandy who did a quick video about TFFF. If you don’t know the organization, they are based in Roseburg and Eugene and have a number of great programs to reduce barriers for rural students to attend college. Grateful for their support.
The rest of the day was mostly running on back roads with little traffic so I was able to get in about 28 miles today even with the heat. I ate a lot of popsicles and got lots of cooling towels on my head. Tomorrow we have an event at Umpqua Community College then continue the run to Eugene.
