Incredibly hot run today, about 88 degrees with over 1,600 ft of Elevation. I had to walk a lot but was able to get my longest mileage so far at 31 miles. Tomorrow looks like it will be in the 70s so I’m looking forward to some cooler weather.
The Lexington-Echo Hwy was not the best for running, cars were whizzing by and there wasn’t much of a shoulder so I was glad to get off it about midway through today’s run. Scenery was amazing, mostly farmland growing alfalfa and wheat for miles and miles. Sting’s song Fields of Gold was playing in my head all day.
We met a couple of farmers at different places along the way. Picture is with Gary, a farmer from Idaho who had come over to help his father-in-law by spraying his fields. Another farmer talked about how he had sold 10,000 acres to an incoming solar farm.
Glad to be done for the day and looking forward to another long one tomorrow.
