Day 39: Oregon Coast Community College

Fantastic day in Lincoln City today.  Started with a visit to Oregon Coast Community College, my 11th CC on this trip. Enjoyed the reception and was happy to see friends Joanne Daschell and Denzil Kumar along with many members of the community. OCCC President Marshall Meache ran out with me onto hwy 101. I had been invited to stop by the Lincoln City Community Center since it was along my route.  I ran into cheers from about 2 dozen kids and Octi the Octopus. The kids had all made me signs and had lots of questions about my run.

I’m ahead of schedule so I took it easy today and ran 21 miles toward Tillamook Bay CC. The weather feels great here and most of the route has wide shoulders so I enjoyed a lighter day of running. I was pleasantly surprised when a car pulled over in front of me and friends Sean and Lisa Wilkinson got out to say hello. They live in the area and recognized me as they were driving by, super fun to see them.

Staying with CCC supporters, Terry and Cheryl Holden, tonight at their beach condo. Thankful for their friendship, a great dinner, and enjoying a wonderful view of the ocean as I write this tonight. Looking forward to getting back out on the road tomorrow.
