Arrived at Rogue Community College, the 5th CC on the route. The welcome was outstanding with staff on both sides with noise makers and giving me high fives as I ran through. We had a short presentation led by President Weber and a student also spoke. I was able to do some interviews with local press and then got back out on the road.
We also welcomed two new crew members today, Jim Laden and his husband Representative Rob Nosse. We have been friends with Jim and Rob since the early 90’s when Jim and I worked together at Lewis & Clark College. Thankful to have the continued support of friends on this adventure.
Was only able to get about 21 miles due to the late start after the event, continued heat, and some serious elevation heading toward Coos Bay. It’s nice to be back in the trees and I’m looking forward to an early start as tomorrow looks like another hot day.
