Had a lovely stay at our friends Terry & Cheryl Holden’s last night and then set off up to Tillamook. I’m a bit ahead of schedule so it was nice to not have to meet a daily mileage goal and I ended the day just a few miles south of Tillamook.
Our longtime friends Kate & Matt Schweitzer are crewing for us on this leg and we had a fun day heading North. The cool coastal air is a welcome relief and most of hwy 101 has wide shoulders so the run was largely worry free today.
Of course my favorite part was the Tillamook ice cream that I was promised at the end of the day. Thank you Filsingers for the gift card. I had a scoop of apple crisp and another of Oregon dark cherry on a waffle cone and it was the best. Also got a package of cheese curds to munch on at rest breaks.
Will continue making our way up the coast for the next few days.
Tim, you definitely earned that wonderful Tillamook ice-cream! Such beautiful country! Glad you are able to experience some cooler weather on your epic journey!
